Mestretech was started in Reno, Nevada in a garage machine shop. When customers started buying keys faster than we could make them it was time to upgrade. Now we run a state of the art facility using laser welding and a multi tasking machine center to produce the highest quality product we can. All made in the USA.

I’m a mechanical engineer by training but a maker at heart. I’ve worked with the Aerospace, Auto, and Biomedical industries. My drive is to boil complicated problems down into the simplest solutions possible. While working in the landscape irrigation industry I found that we would often make due with the tools or supplies we had in hand. Underground valves were consistently underwater or difficult to align the right key and I thought we needed a better solution. A key that would work for us, not against us. After many prototypes, I honed the design to one that is as simple as possible and works with as many residential valves as possible.
